A Window fit for a Boudouir Queen

January 28th, 2012

Vintage sleepwear is one of the most incredible things. The detail put into nightgowns and lingerie back when they were primarily handmade never ceases to amaze me, and the silks and satins don’t hurt much either.

For our most recent window, we’re displaying some dreamy vintage boudoir looks, as well as some saucy vintage-inspired lingerie. Take a gander. Some detail shots (worth seeing, trust me) after the jump!

An Ode to Wool and Woolly Things

January 11th, 2012

There’s no better companion during the winter months than a quality wool coat, or a luxurious cashmere sweater. Here, Alex Cunningham and Angelina Castillo photograph several wool pieces that could become a staple of your winter wardrobe.

Starting with an (I think) essential element to any woman’s wardrobe, the gigantic cozy sweater. It doubles as a blanket for lazy evenings on the couch, but you can also dress it up with a belt and boots for a night out! This one is a wool blend, for added comfort.

Halfway between your favorite blazer and your favorite flannel button-up, this brightly-colored wool jacket is an easy (and warm!) way to spice up jeans and a t-shirt.

Petrune the Phoenix

January 5th, 2012

On January 15th 2011, Petrune reopened after a devastating fire closed our doors. A year later we are happy to say that not only are we still here, but have had our best sales year to date. With your support, like a phoenix, we have risen from the ashes stronger (and even more stylish). Thank you Ithaca and our followers around the world.

Pas Cher Chic featuring Petrune

December 29th, 2011

When Jenna, purveyor of fashionable things over as Pas Cher Chic, approached us about featuring Petrune in a blog post, we were pretty psyched. Her blog over at pascherchic always has amazing styling ideas and a really unique point of view, whether she’s at a vintage boutique, a thrift store, or H&M.

I was especially excited when I saw her pulling a couple pairs of leather 80′s pants off the racks at the store. We’ve been waiting for someone to come along with the cojones to rock those for ages! Jenna and a friend modeled a number of super sassy red/black/white themed looks, calling to mind our beloved White Stripes. And really, when the White Stripes are even tangentially involved, there’s no way to deny the awesome.

Here’s a few of our fave looks, but be sure to check out her blog for two posts of Petrune goodness!
